What Mysterious stores
We store the plans a creator enters, selector labels, recipient name when provided, choices made, timestamps, and random browser identifiers used to manage guest-created mysteries and prevent duplicate selections. If a creator signs in, we also store their email address and account identifier through our authentication provider.
How it is used
This information is used only to create, share, reveal, and manage mysteries; keep creator accounts in sync; protect the service; and diagnose reliability problems. Do not enter sensitive personal, financial, medical, or confidential information in a plan.
Analytics
We use Google Analytics to understand aggregate product usage. Mysterious replaces recipient and preview share identifiers with generic route names before sending page views and records anonymous interaction events such as successful selections, result views, and map or directions clicks. We do not intentionally send plan contents, selector labels, recipient names, email addresses, selected option labels, locations, destination URLs, or share identifiers to Google. Google may process browser, device, and interaction data and may use analytics cookies.
Sharing and retention
Anyone with a recipient link can view its public clues and may be able to make a selection. Hidden outcomes are revealed according to the creator’s settings. Service providers used for hosting, database storage, and email delivery process data on our behalf. Data may be retained while a mystery or account remains active and as needed for security and legal obligations.
Your choices
Creators should keep share links private. You can delete an individual mystery from its Creator controls, delete a signed-in account and its associated mysteries from the Support & data page, or email support@mysterious.social to request access, correction, or deletion. Guest-created mysteries are tied to a browser cookie; clearing it may remove the ability to manage those mysteries unless they were claimed by signing in.
